Analysen zur Revision 2023 in der Verbraucherpreisstatistik

Abstract

Der Verbraucherpreisindex wird in regelmäßigen Abständen einer Revision unterzogen und auf ein neues Basisjahr umgestellt. Mit dem Berichtsmonat Januar 2023 erfolgte die Umstellung von der bisherigen Basis 2015 auf das Basisjahr 2020. Eine solche Anpassung der Preismessung ist notwendig, um die geänderten Konsumgewohnheiten und Marktverhältnisse im Zeitablauf in der Preisentwicklung abzubilden. Die auf Basis 2020 neuberechnete Inflationsrate für das Jahr 2022 betrug mit + 6,9 % einen Prozentpunkt weniger als auf der bisherigen Basis 2015. Damit liegt die Revisionsdifferenz höher als bei früheren Revisionen. Neben der Aktualisierung der Wägungsschemata, insbesondere des Wägungsschemas für Waren und Dienstleistungen, beeinflussten noch weitere methodische Verbesserungen die Revision 2023.
