Abstract

Das Bewusstsein um die Relevanz von Datenkompetenzen (Data Literacy) ist für die Zukunftsfähigkeit einer Gesellschaft mittlerweile an vielen Stellen vorhanden. Doch besteht derzeit nur unzureichend Transparenz im Hinblick auf die zahlreichen Projekte, Initiativen und Angebote zur Förderung von Datenkompetenz in Deutschland, die in den vergangenen Jahren initiiert wurden. Aus diesem Grund wird die Etablierung eines nationalen Datenkompetenzzentrums / Kompetenzzentrums für Data Literacy dringend empfohlen. Dieses soll im Weiteren für einen abgestimmten Auf- und Ausbau der Maßnahmen und Angebote zur Förderung von Datenkompetenzen Sorge tragen. Der Aufsatz beschreibt sowohl das Aufgabenspektrum als auch die Anforderungen an eine solche koordinierende und informierende nationale Institution.
