Geburtsstaat und Geburtsort im Ausländerzentralregister – Nutzungsmöglichkeiten für die amtliche Statistik

Abstract

Die amtliche Statistik verwendet die Merkmale Geburtsstaat und Geburtsort aus dem Ausländerzentralregister. Die Merkmale werden im Verwaltungskontext jedoch unvollständig (Geburtsstaat) beziehungsweise unstrukturiert als Freitextangabe (Geburtsort) und ohne Plausibilitätskontrollen erhoben. Das Statistische Bundesamt entwickelt Konzepte zur Standardisierung, Prüfung und Ergänzung von Verwaltungsdaten, um diese für statistische Zwecke nutzbar zu machen. Der Fokus dieses Aufsatzes liegt zunächst auf der Aufbereitung der Angaben zum Geburtsstaat im Ausländerzentralregister zum Stichtag 31. Dezember 2020 und darauf basierenden ersten beispielhaften Auswertungen. Zudem wird ein Konzept für eine potenzielle Aufbereitung und Geokodierung des Geburtsorts vorgestellt.
