Die Europäische Datenstrategie – ein Binnenmarkt für Daten

Abstract

Mit der Europäischen Datenstrategie hat sich die Europäische Kommission zum Ziel gesetzt, einen europäischen Binnenmarkt für Daten zu etablieren. Sie ist ein wichtiger Baustein der Antwort der Europäischen Union auf die Herausforderungen der Digitalisierung. Die Europäische Datenstrategie soll fundierte Entscheidungen auf der Grundlage von Daten ermöglichen und den Austausch und die Nutzung von Daten optimieren. An ihrer Umsetzung ist das Statistische Bundesamt als Teil des Europäischen Statistischen Systems sowohl als Produzent als auch als Nutzer von Daten beteiligt. Dieser Beitrag richtet den Blick auf geplante Inhalte und Zielsetzungen der Europäischen Datenstrategie sowie deren Umsetzung in konkreten Rechtsakten. Zudem stellt er Bedeutung und Chancen für die amtliche Statistik sowie deren Beitrag zur Umsetzung der Europäischen Datenstrategie vor.
