Möglichkeiten und Grenzen der Gesundheitsstatistiken in der Corona-Pandemie

Abstract

Seit Beginn der Corona-Pandemie ist das Interesse an aktuellen Daten der Gesundheitsstatistiken deutlich gestiegen. Kurzfristig gab es wenig Spielraum, auf pandemiebedingte Bedarfe zu reagieren, denn die amtlichen Gesundheitsstatistiken werden überwiegend jährlich ermittelt. Zudem sind sie in dem, was sie abbilden, durch Gesetze und Verordnungen festgelegt. Jedoch hat das Statistische Bundesamt ein Bündel an Maßnahmen mit längerer Perspektive gestartet, die die Aktualität der Daten steigern und die abgebildeten Gesundheitsthemen erweitern sollen. Der Artikel informiert über diese Maßnahmen, zeigt aber auch bestehende Grenzen auf.
