Abstract

Eine der Maßnahmen, mit denen die Bundesregierung die Folgen der aktuellen Coronakrise für den Arbeitsmarkt zu entschärfen sucht, ist der erleichterte Zugang zum Kurzarbeitergeld. Dieses Instrument wurde bereits erfolgreich bei der Bewältigung der Finanzmarkt- und Wirtschaftskrise 2008/09 eingesetzt. Der folgende, erstmals in der Ausgabe 3/2010 dieser Zeitschrift veröffentlichte Artikel bezieht sich auf die Auswirkungen der damaligen Krise auf den deutschen Arbeitsmarkt. Der Artikel stellt die Zusammenhänge zwischen der Wirtschaftsleistung und dem Arbeitsmarkt anhand der Ergebnisse der Erwerbstätigenrechnung des Statistischen Bundesamtes dar. Dabei geht ein Kapitel ausführlich auf die Kurzarbeit und die Motive zum Einsatz dieses Arbeitsmarktinstruments ein.
