Die deutsche Forschungslandschaft: Starke regionale Disparitäten

Abstract

Für hochentwickelte Industrieländer stellen Investitionen in Forschung und Entwicklung wesentliche Voraussetzungen für Wachstum und Wettbewerbsfähigkeit dar. Die EU Kommission hat daher als Ziel einen Anteil der Ausgaben für Forschung und Entwicklung am Bruttoinlandsprodukt von 3% bis 2010 vorgegeben. Inwieweit kann Deutschland dieses Ziel erreichen? Welchen Beitrag zur Realisierung dieses Ziels leisten der öffentliche und der privatwirtschaftliche Bereich? Welche regionalen Unterschiede gibt es bei der Forschungsintensität?
