Zur Rolle der empirischen Wirtschaftsforschung für die Politikberatung

Abstract

Seit Januar liegen die abschließenden Empfehlungen des Wissenschaftsrates zu den großen Wirtschaftsforschungsinstituten vor. Damit kann die Diskussion um deren Rolle in den Wirtschaftswissenschaften und der Politikberatung, die in den letzten Monaten weitgehend hinter verschlossenen Türen geführt wurde, öffentlich gemacht werden. Worum geht es in der Diskussion? Anhand welcher Maßstäbe bewertete der Wissenschaftsrat die Institute? Welche Rolle sollte der Wirtschaftstheorie, der empirischen Wirtschaftsforschung und der Statistik für die Politikberatung zukommen?
