Regionen im Wettbewerb: Ergebnisse des IW-Regionalrankings

Abstract

Regionen stehen miteinander im Wettbewerb. Vor allem die Regionen im Süden Deutschlands haben sich eine starke Position erarbeitet. 88 der erfolgreichsten 100 Regionen liegen in Baden-Württemberg und Bayern. Der Aufholprozess Ostdeutschlands scheint dagegen ins Stocken geraten zu sein. Unter den 50 dynamischsten Regionen finden sich lediglich zehn aus Ostdeutschland. Im Rahmen des IW-Regionalrankings 2014 werden wichtige Indikatoren ermittelt, die zum Erfolg einer Region beitragen. Ziel ist es, relevante Themenfelder zu adressieren, regionsspezifische Analysen durchzuführen und erfolgreiche Handlungskonzepte abzuleiten, die die Regionen zur Stärkung ihrer Wettbewerbsfähigkeit einsetzen können.
