Materialeffizienzberatung: Welche Unternehmen kann sie erreichen?

Abstract

Die Steigerung der Materialeffizienz wird von Unternehmen angesichts steigender und volatiler Materialpreise im eigenen Interesse vorangebracht. Globale Umweltprobleme und Fragen der Rohstoffverfügbarkeit machen Materialeffizienz und Rohstoffproduktivität auch zu einem politischen Thema. Die Bundesregierung will die Steigerung der betrieblichen Materialeffizienz verstärkt unterstützen. Die wichtigsten Instrumente sind die Förderung von Informationsmaterial und Beratungen sowie Kredithilfen. Anhand einer Unternehmensbefragung im Rahmen des IW-Zukunftspanels wird gezeigt, dass im Produzierenden und im Dienstleistungsgewerbe etwa jedes dritte betroffene Unternehmen Interesse an Unterstützungsangeboten hat. Allerdings lehnt auch jedes zweite Unternehmen Beratungsangebote ab. Unter den kleinen Unternehmen dürften es vor allem die bereits aktiven Firmen sein, die ohne bisherige Beratungserfahrung für Unterstützungen zur Steigerung der Materialeffizienz gewonnen werden können.
