Umfang, Kosten und Trends der betrieblichen Weiterbildung: Ergebnisse der IW-Weiterbildungserhebung 2008

Abstract

Die sechste Weiterbildungserhebung des Instituts der deutschen Wirtschaft Köln (IW) zeigt, dass knapp 84 Prozent aller Unternehmen in Deutschland Weiterbildung betreiben. Jeder Mitarbeiter nimmt im Durchschnitt 1,3-mal an einer Lehrveranstaltung im Umfang von 18,1 Stunden teil. Im Jahr 2007 lagen die Aufwendungen der Unternehmen je Mitarbeiter bei durchschnittlich 1.053 Euro, wovon knapp 40 Prozent auf direkte und gut 60 Prozent auf indirekte Kosten entfielen. Gegenüber der früheren IW-Erhebung für das Jahr 2004 liegen die direkten Kosten um 15,5 Prozent höher, während die indirekten Kosten 10,1 Prozent niedriger ausfallen. Zugelegt haben die Kosten für Lehrveranstaltungen, während die Aufwendungen für das informelle Lernen gesunken sind. Hochgerechnet auf alle Beschäftigten in Deutschland wurden 27,0 Milliarden Euro für die betriebliche Weiterbildung aufgewandt. Für die kommenden Jahre ist unabhängig von konjunkturellen Verwerfungen von einem steigenden Weiterbildungsbedarf auszugehen, der auch durch Fachkräfteengpässe verursacht wird. Von besonderer Relevanz ist aus Sicht der Unternehmen eine stärkere Kooperation der Hochschulen bei der berufsbegleitenden Weiterbildung.
