Die Entwicklung der Akademikerbeschäftigung

Abstract

Die Akademikerbeschäftigung von Frauen hat in Deutschland im Zeitraum 1995 bis 2005 stärker zugenommen als bei den Männern. Im Osten waren die Beschäftigungszuwächse größer als im Westen. Deutlicher als bei den Universitätsabsolventen war der Anstieg bei den Fachhochschulabsolventen. In der Beschäftigungsstruktur nach Fachrichtungen zeigten sich Gewinne bei den Rechts-, Wirtschafts- und Sozialwissenschaften. Verluste waren bei der Fachrichtungsgruppe Naturwissenschaften und Mathematik, in den ostdeutschen Bundesländern auch bei den Ingenieurwissenschaften zu verzeichnen. Bezogen auf die Branchenstruktur, zeigten sich die stärksten Beschäftigungsgewinne bei den Dienstleistungen, besonders bei den Dienstleistungen für Unternehmen. Die studierten Fachrichtungen ermöglichen grundsätzlich einen breiten beruflichen Einsatz. Bei der Hälfte der erwerbstätigen Akademiker in Deutschland zeigte sich eine große Variationsbreite in den ausgeübten Berufen.
