Abstract

Anhand der Daten des IAB-Betriebspanels für 1997 bis 1999 wird getestet, ob die Betriebsgröße ein relevanter Einflussfaktor auf das Investitionsgeschehen in der ostdeutschen Industrie ist. Es wird ein positiver Zusammenhang festgestellt, der sich insbesondere in betriebsgrößenabhängigen Unterschieden verschiedener qualitativer Aspekte der Investitionstätigkeit zeigt. Mit wachsender Betriebsgröße verdoppelt sich z. B. die Investitionsintensität, steigt die Inanspruchnahme von Fördermitteln und wird intensiver mit Investitionsplänen gearbeitet.
