Ansatzpunkte zur Reduktion der globalen CO2-Emissionen

Abstract

Schätzungen besagen, dass ab 2020 etwa 3% des Weltsozialprodukts für die Schadensbeseitigung und Schadensverhinderung aufgrund des Treibhauseffekts aufgewandt werden müssen. Diese Schätzungen sind häufig vage und daher angreifbar, aber dies sollte keine Messlatte für die Umwelt- und Energiepolitik sein. Für die Beurteilung des Handlungsbedarfs genügt allein die objektive Tatsache, dass ein beträchtliches Risiko besteht. Um in Zukunft auch handslungsfähig zu sein, muss sich die Politik Optionen bewahren, die diesen Risiken Rechnung tragen.
