Reforming Political Science

Abstract

Political science is in decline because it has become too focused on methodological precision, has lost contact with public policy, and recruits only among academics. To become more vital and relevant, it must use a wider range of methods, recover a voice on policy issues, and expect much more government experience from its recruits. 由于政治学太过于追求方法论的精确性,忽略了对公共政策的关注,并且只招募专业学术人员,导致它正在走向衰落。为了加强其重要性和相关性,政治学必须采用一系列更广泛的方法,重新为政策议题发声,并招募具备更多政府工作经验的人员。 Las ciencias políticas están en decadencia porte se han enfocado demasiado en la precisión metodológica, han perdido contacto con las políticas públicas y solo recluta a académicos. Para ser más vital y relevante, la disciplina debe utilizar una gama más amplia de métodos, recuperar un a voz en los temas políticos y pedir mucha más experiencia de gobierno de sus reclutas.
