Heimische Wirtschaft vor Kriegsausbruch in der Ukraine in guter Verfassung

Abstract

Die Wirtschaftsleistung in Österreich lag im Februar erneut über dem Vorkrisenniveau. Die Aussichten in den vom vierten Lockdown am stärksten betroffenen Branchen haben sich zuletzt deutlich aufgehellt, vor allem in der Beherbergung und Gastronomie. Die heimische Arbeitslosenquote befindet sich saisonbereinigt auf dem niedrigsten Stand seit Ausbruch der Finanzmarkt- und Wirtschaftskrise 2008, die Zahl der offenen Stellen hat neuerlich einen Höchststand erreicht. Die Inflation stieg zuletzt auf knapp 6% und dürfte aufgrund der Rohstoffpreisschocks im Zusammenhang mit dem Ukraine-Krieg noch länger hoch bleiben. Eine mögliche Unterbrechung der russischen Erdgaslieferungen birgt Risiken für bestimmte Bereiche der heimischen Industrie.
