Geringe regionale Wachstumsunterschiede mit Vorteilen im Westen. Die Wirtschaft in den Bundesländern 2015

Abstract

Die regionalen Wachstumsunterschiede waren in Österreich 2015 vor dem Hintergrund nur schwacher Auftriebskräfte in allen Nachfragekomponenten eher gering und eher durch die geographische Lage als durch die Wirtschaftsstruktur getrieben, mit tendenziellen Vorteilen der Bundesländer im Westen. Die reale Bruttowertschöpfung nahm daher nach WIFO-Berechnungen in Westösterreich (+1,2%) stärker zu als in Ost- und Südösterreich (+0,6% bzw. +0,7%). Am stärksten wuchs die Wirtschaft im Burgenland (als Ausnahme im Osten), in Vorarlberg und Salzburg; in Kärnten, Wien und Niederösterreich blieb die Wertschöpfungsentwicklung dagegen unter dem (schwachen) Gesamtergebnis. Die Beschäftigung wuchs lebhaft, aber neuerlich nicht kräftig genug, um das stark steigende Arbeitskräfteangebot aufzunehmen. Die Arbeitslosigkeit erhöhte sich damit in allen Bundesländern, insbesondere in Ostösterreich und in den Ballungszentren.
