Steigende Zuversicht im Euro-Raum trotz Deflation in einigen Ländern

Abstract

In den USA stagnierte die Wirtschaftsleistung im I. Quartal 2014, in Großbritannien hielt der Aufschwung an, in Spanien gewann die Konjunktur an Schwung. Der Anhebung des Mehrwertsteuersatzes in Japan gingen umfangreiche Vorziehkäufe voraus. Chinas Währung wertete merklich ab, aus Russland und der Ukraine wurde verstärkt Kapital abgezogen. Im März verzeichneten fünf Euro-Länder einen Rückgang des Verbraucherpreisindex, in Österreich wirkten Steuererhöhungen preistreibend. Die Produktionserwartungen für die kommenden Monate gaben leicht nach, die Reform der Normverbrauchsabgabe löste Vorziehkäufe an Pkw aus. Der Wintertourismus verlief bisher schwach. Konjunkturbedingt stieg die saisonbereinigte Arbeitslosenquote im April weiter und erreichte einen Höchstwert von 8,3%.
