Österreichs Wirtschaft im Aufwind

Abstract

Nach der Stagnation zu Jahresbeginn wuchs die österreichische Wirtschaft im II. Quartal kräftig (real +0,9% gegenüber der Vorperiode). Getragen wurde diese Entwicklung von der Auslandsnachfrage: Im April und Mai erhöhte sich der Wert der Warenexporte gegenüber dem Vorjahr jeweils um mehr als 10%. Die Bauwirtschaft hat die Krise hingegen noch nicht überwunden, wenngleich sich die Abwärtsdynamik jüngst abschwächte. Auf dem heimischen Arbeitsmarkt hielten die Besserungstendenzen auch im Juli an. Die Arbeitslosigkeit ging weiter zurück, und die Beschäftigung wurde abermals ausgeweitet.
