Struktur und Finanzierungsformen der Sozialausgaben 2008

Abstract

Die Sozialquote war in Österreich zwischen 2003 und 2007 rückläufig, im Jahr 2007 – ein Jahr vor der Wirtschaftskrise – lag sie bei 28% des BIP. Dank der relativ günstigen wirtschaftlichen Rahmenbedingungen wuchsen die Sozialausgaben bis 2007 deutlich schwächer als die gesamte Wirtschaftsleistung. Mit der Verlangsamung des Wirtschaftswachstums und dem Wirksamwerden der automatischen Stabilisatoren erhöhten sich die Sozialausgaben im Jahr 2008 gegenüber 2007 um 5,2%. Die Sozialquote stieg 2008 um 0,3 Prozentpunkte auf 28,3% des BIP. Überdurchschnittlich ausgeweitet wurden die Aufwendungen gegen soziale Ausgrenzung, die Familienleistungen und die Altersleistungen, unterdurchschnittlich die Leistungen bei Invalidität, Arbeitslosigkeit und für Hinterbliebene.
