Klimawandel und Energiewirtschaft: Schlüsselindikatoren und Auswirkungen der Wirtschaftskrise

Abstract

Die vorliegende zweite Ausgabe der Schlüsselindikatoren zu den Trends und Entwicklungen im Bereich von Klima und Energiesystem unterstreicht die Notwendigkeit einer "Dekarbonisierung" von Wirtschaft und Gesellschaft, d. h. einer Verringerung energiebedingter Treibhausgasemissionen zum Schutz des Klimas. Das aktuelle Schwerpunktthema behandelt die möglichen Auswirkungen der Wirtschaftskrise auf die Transformation der Energiesysteme und auf den Klimaschutz. Während demnach die Investitionen in die Nutzung erneuerbarer Energieträger und in eine Steigerung der Energieeffizienz infolge der Krise schwächer steigen, würde die aktuelle Situation die Möglichkeit für eine umfassendere Transformation der Energiesysteme und einen nachhaltigeren Wachstumspfad bieten.
