Abstract

Das BIP wuchs in Österreich laut WIFO-Schnellschätzung im II. Quartal 2008, bereinigt um Arbeitstags- und Saisoneffekte, real um nur noch 0,4% gegenüber dem Vorquartal (+2% gegenüber dem Vorjahr). Damit ist der Konjunkturaufschwung zu Ende. Die Trendwende war zuerst im Export und der Sachgütererzeugung zu beobachten. Der Rückgang der Realeinkommen dämpft auch die Konsumnachfrage der privaten Haushalte. Hingegen expandieren der Tourismus und die Bauwirtschaft stetig. Zwar verbessert sich die Lage auf dem Arbeitsmarkt im Vorjahresvergleich weiterhin deutlich, die saisonbereinigten Werte zeigen jedoch bereits eine Abflachung des Beschäftigungswachstums und einen Anstieg der Arbeitslosigkeit.
