Österreichs Wirtschaft Ende 2007 dynamisch – aktuelle Umfragen zeigen Verlangsamung

Abstract

Vor dem Hintergrund der Abkühlung der Weltwirtschaft wuchs die österreichische Wirtschaft im IV. Quartal 2007 weiterhin stark. Gemäß aktueller WIFO-Schnellschätzung expandierte die gesamtwirtschaftliche Aktivität gegenüber der Vorperiode real um 0,7%. Der Wachstumsmotor war abermals die exportorientierte Industrieproduktion, während sich die privaten Konsumausgaben nur mäßig entwickelten. Mit der üblichen Verzögerung folgte die Beschäftigung der guten Konjunktur und weitete sich im Jänner deutlich aus. Für das I. Quartal 2008 deuten die Ergebnisse des WIFO-Konjunkturtests auf eine Abschwächung der Industriekonjunktur hin, und der Anstieg der Verbraucherpreise dämpft das Konsumentenvertrauen.
