Wirtschaftswachstum verlangsamt sich. Prognose für 2008 und 2009

Abstract

Der Anstieg des BIP dürfte sich von real +3,4% im Jahr 2007 auf nur noch +2,2% im Jahr 2008 verlangsamen. Ein erster Ausblick auf das Jahr 2009 lässt eine Rate von +2% erwarten. Die Abschwächung des Wirtschaftswachstums ist eine Folge der ungünstigeren internationalen Rahmenbedingungen durch den bevorstehenden Konjunktureinbruch in den USA, die anhaltende Krise auf den Finanzmärkten und die starke Aufwertung des Euro. In Österreich werden deshalb Export und Sachgütererzeugung, die in den vergangenen beiden Jahren geboomt haben, schwächer wachsen. In der Folge werden auch die Ausrüstungsinvestitionen und die Bauinvestitionen weniger stark expandieren. Trotz günstiger Konjunktur ist in den letzten Jahren keine Belebung der Konsumnachfrage der privaten Haushalte in Gang gekommen. Dies war überwiegend eine Folge der zurückhaltenden Entwicklung der Einkommen. Nun dämpft auch eine Beschleunigung des Preisanstiegs (2008: +2,6%) die real verfügbaren Haushaltseinkommen. Die Abschwächung der Konjunktur erlaubt keine weitere Verringerung der Arbeitslosigkeit und des Budgetdefizits.
