Konjunkturerholung setzt sich fort

Abstract

Nach den Ergebnissen des WIFO-Konjunkturtests hellte sich die Stimmung in der Sachgütererzeugung und der Bauwirtschaft im I. Quartal 2006 merklich auf. Die Produktions- und Exportzahlen zeigen eine mäßige Aufwärtstendenz. Trotz günstiger Rahmenbedingungen dürfte noch kein Investitionsaufschwung in Gang gekommen sein. Darauf weisen der Rückgang der Importe von Investitionsgütern und die Schwäche im Großhandel hin. Allerdings spiegelt der WIFO-Investitionstest eine Verbesserung der Investitionsabsichten wider. Der Geschäftgang der überwiegend von der privaten Konsumnachfrage bestimmten Wirtschaftsbereiche ist weiterhin verhalten. Die realen Umsätze lagen im Einzelhandel zuletzt um etwa 1½% über dem Vorjahreswert, im Kfz-Handel deutlich darunter. Die Zurückhaltung in der Anschaffung von Kfz wird maßgeblich von der ungünstigen Lage auf dem Arbeitsmarkt beeinflusst. Zwar steigt die Zahl der Beschäftigten deutlich, dies betrifft allerdings weiterhin überwiegend Teilzeitstellen. Die Zahl der Arbeitslosen erreichte im Jänner einen neuen Höchstwert.
