Erholung der Wirtschaft im Jahr 2004

Abstract

Die österreichische Wirtschaft wuchs 2004 um 2%. Dank der verbesserten Wettbewerbsfähigkeit profitierten die Unternehmen erheblich von der guten Konjunktur in Übersee. Die Ausfuhr stieg beträchtlich, jedoch verebbte die Dynamik gegen Jahresende. Vergleichsweise schwach blieb die Expansion der auf Investitionen konzentrierten Binnennachfrage. Die Beschleunigung der Inflation und die schlechte Konsumentenstimmung ließen die Konsumausgaben der privaten Haushalte nur wenig zunehmen. Gegen Jahresende reagierte die Beschäftigung bereits auf die Konjunkturerholung. Allerdings blieb aufgrund des prozyklischen Anstiegs des Arbeitskräfteangebotes die Arbeitslosigkeit hoch.
