Österreichs Wirtschaft im Jahr 2002: Neuerlich ungenügendes Wachstum

Abstract

Nach der weltweiten Konjunkturschwäche im Jahr 2001 kam 2002 die Wirtschaftsentwicklung in den OECD-Ländern kaum in Schwung. In den USA beschleunigte sich zwar das Wachstum auf 2,4%, es war jedoch von erheblicher Labilität geprägt. In der EU gewann die Konjunktur in der ersten Jahreshälfte 2002 wieder an Dynamik, verstärkte sich im weiteren Jahresverlauf aber nicht mehr. Auch in Österreich war Anfang 2002 eine beginnende Erholung festzustellen, die jedoch zunehmend an Kraft verlor. Im IV. Quartal 2002 war ein geringfügiger Rückgang zu beobachten, sodass sich für das Jahr 2002 insgesamt nur ein Anstieg des realen BIP von 1% ergab.
