Markante Dämpfung der internationalen Konjunktur, robuster Konsum in Österreich

Abstract

Die Abschwächung der internationalen Konjunktur schlägt seit dem Frühjahr 2001 auch auf die österreichische Wirtschaft durch. Das Wachstum von Export, Sachgüterproduktion und Umsätzen im Großhandel hat sich markant verringert. Hingegen erweist sich die Inlandsnachfrage als robust. Zwar beeinträchtigen der anhaltend hohe Preisauftrieb und die Steuererhöhungen die Nettorealeinkommen je Arbeitnehmer, die Konsumausgaben der privaten Haushalte übersteigen allerdings weiterhin den Vorjahreswert. Das Beschäftigungswachstum verliert merklich an Schwung, und im Mai lag die Zahl der Arbeitslosen leicht über dem Niveau des Vorjahres.
