Rückgang der Arbeitslosigkeit, aber sprunghafter Preisanstieg

Abstract

Der Aufschwung hält in Österreich unvermindert an. In den ersten vier Monaten dieses Jahres wurde die Sachgüterproduktion im Vorjahresvergleich um fast 12% gesteigert. Der Export profitiert von der guten Auslandskonjunktur und dem Wertverlust des Euro, der private Konsum von den Nettoeinkommenseffekten der Steuerreform und des "Familienpakets". Infolge der Anhebung verschiedener Abgaben und der weiteren Energieverteuerung stieg die Inflationsrate im Juni auf 2,7%, den höchsten Wert seit 1994. Die Arbeitslosigkeit sinkt stärker als die Beschäftigung steigt, doch spiegelt dies teilweise einen Rückzug in die Nichterwerbstätigkeit wider (Vorzieheffekte wegen der bevorstehenden Restriktion des Zugangs zur vorzeitigen Alterspension).
