Wachstum im Westen Österreichs etwas stärker. Die Wirtschaft in den Bundesländern 1999

Abstract

Mit der Abschwächung des Wachstums in Österreich verringerten sich 1999 die regionalen Unterschiede der Wirtschaftsentwicklung. Aufgrund der Erholung der Sachgüterproduktion wuchs die Wirtschaft in den westlichen Bundesländern zumeist rascher als in den östlichen und südlichen. Insbesondere in Tirol, Vorarlberg, Oberösterreich sowie im Burgenland war das Wirtschaftswachstum um ½ bis 1 Prozentpunkt höher als im Österreich-Durchschnitt. Regional noch ausgeglichener entwickelte sich der Arbeitsmarkt, der von dem im Jahresverlauf einsetzenden Konjunkturaufschwung begünstigt war. Die Beschäftigung nahm in allen Bundesländern zu, besonders viele Arbeitsplätze kamen in den ländlichen Gebieten im Bereich der Dienstleistungen hinzu. Die Arbeitslosigkeit ging in fast allen Arbeitsamtsbezirken zurück.
