Die Märkte in Fernost. Trotz Krise für Österreich attraktiv

Abstract

Ende 1997 brach in Fernost eine Finanz- und Währungskrise aus. Nach Bewältigung der gegenwärtigen Probleme kann aber wieder mit einem kräftigen Aufschwung gerechnet werden. In einer WIFO-Umfrage – die auf dem Höhepunkt der Krise durchgeführt wurde – rechnen 62% der Unternehmen mit einer Steigerung der Exporte nach Fernost, 29% erwarten keine Veränderung. Unter den Direktinvestoren überwiegt ebenfalls die Einschätzung der Situation als stabil. Österreich partizipierte bisher an dem wirtschaftlichen Aufschwung der Region nur wenig: Der Anteil der Exporte nach Fernost (ohne Japan) beträgt 3%.
