Abschwächung in der Exportindustrie, steigende Konsumnachfrage

Abstract

Sachgüterproduktion und Warenexport expandierten bis in den Sommer kräftig. Die Auswirkungen der internationalen Wirtschafts- und Finanzkrise werden bislang nur in den Ergebnissen der Unternehmensbefragungen sichtbar. Die Umfragen des WIFO für Österreich und jene der EU-Kommission für Europa zeigen eine merkliche Verunsicherung, die in einer Verschlechterung der Produktionserwartungen und der Einschätzung der Auftragslage vor allem der exportorientierten Unternehmen zum Ausdruck kommt. Hingegen sehen sich jene Unternehmen, die überwiegend für die Inlandsnachfrage produzieren, einer günstigen Nachfrageentwicklung gegenüber. Der private Konsum wird bei stabilem Preisniveau, zunehmendem Einkommenswachstum und steigender Beschäftigung zur wichtigsten Konjunkturstütze.
