Rezession in Deutschland verschlechtert die Wachstumsaussichten für Westeuropa. Mittelfristige Prognose der Weltwirtschaft bis 1997

Abstract

Das Wachstum der Weltwirtschaft wird sich in den kommenden fünf Jahren beschleunigen. Bei niedrigem Zinssatz und Wechselkurs des Dollars und mäßig steigenden Rohstoffpreisen wird der Realzins für internationale Schulden nur etwa 1% betragen. Unter diesen Bedingungen könnte die Weltproduktion im Durchschnitt um 3½% und der Welthandel um 6% pro Jahr wachsen. In Westeuropa dürfte die Produktion bis 1997 um ½ Prozentpunkt langsamer expandieren als in den Industrieländern insgesamt: 1993 wird sich die Konjunktur in Westeuropa, insbesondere in der BRD, stark verschlechtern, in Japan hingegen leicht und in den USA deutlich verbessern. Die Entwicklung der Wirtschaft der BRD ist der größte Unsicherheitsfaktor der vorliegenden Prognose. Sollte die Rezession in Deutschland über 1993 hinaus anhalten, würde dies die mittelfristigen Wachstumsaussichten für Westeuropa merklich dämpfen.
