Die Verschlechterung der Handelsbilanz 1991: Ein kurz- oder längerfristiges Phänomen?

Abstract

Das Defizit der Handelsbilanz ist 1991 auf 114,3 Mrd. S gestiegen, um 23,2 Mrd. S mehr als 1990. Angesichts einer wachsenden Wirtschaft ist diese Entwicklung nicht besorgniserregend. Die Defizitquote (Handelsbilanzsaldo in Prozent des Brutto-Inlandsproduktes) nahm um 0,9 Prozentpunkte auf 5,9% zu. In der Verschlechterung der Handelsbilanz 1991 spiegelt sich im wesentlichen die stark gespaltene Konjunktur: Die Inlandsnachfrage in Österreich wuchs stärker als die Auslandsnachfrage. Dies wird auch durch eine ökonometrische Analyse der Veränderung der Defizitquote bestätigt. Demnach verbessert in der Regel ein Wachstumsvorsprung OECD-Europas gegenüber Österreich im Ausmaß von 1 Prozentpunkt die Handelsbilanz um ½% des BIP.
