Abstract

Rezessive Tendenzen auf wichtigen Auslandsmärkten begrenzten im III. Quartal 1991 die Industrieentwicklung. Aufgrund ihrer starken Binnenorientierung fanden die Bundesländer Ostösterreichs bessere Ausgangsbedingungen vor als das übrige Österreich. Die Steiermark und Oberösterreich mußten wegen des hohen Anteils der Grundstoffproduktion, Vorarlberg durch seine besondere Ausrichtung auf den Export dämpfende Einflüsse der Industrie hinnehmen. Ausweichreaktionen der Tourismusnachfrage auf die Krise in Jugoslawien begünstigten die westlichen und südlichen Bundesländer. Wien leidet weiterhin unter der Nachfrageschwäche im Städtetourismus, hier setzte jedoch das Bauwesen deutliche Impulse.
