Lohnstückkostenposition der Industrie 1990 verschlechtert

Abstract

Die internationale Wettbewerbsposition der österreichischen Industrie hat sich 1990 trotz stabiler Lohnstückkosten verschlechtert. Das kräftige Arbeitskostenwachstum von 7,1% pro Stunde wurde wohl durch gleich hohe Produktivitätszuwächse ausgeglichen; da aber der Schilling durch die starke Abwertung einiger Währungen effektiv um 3,4% aufwertete, hat sich die internationale Lohnstückkostenposition der Industrie gegenüber den Handelspartnern um 0,7% verschlechtert. Die Kosten der Arbeitsstunde betrugen 1990 in der verarbeitenden Industrie Österreichs 202 S. Sie lagen damit im Durchschnitt der EG-Industrieländer und etwa auf dem Niveau Frankreichs und Italiens. Österreichs Sachgüterproduktion hat seit 1970 einen Produktivitätsrückstand gegenüber der BRD von einem Drittel aufgeholt und 1990 das Produktivitätsniveau der BRD erreicht.
