Österreich und das COCOM

Abstract

Als neutrales Land war Österreich am strategischen Embargo des Westens gegenüber den Oststaaten (COCOM) zwar nicht beteiligt, aber doch indirekt involviert. Der Technologietransfer wurde in Österreich mit Hilfe verschiedener Verfahren überwacht, seit 1988 sind Exporte von Hochtechnologie bewilligungspflichtig. Österreich exportiert im internationalen Vergleich relativ wenig Technologiewaren in den Osten. Mit dem Ende des Ost-West-Antagonismus werden auch die künstlichen Schranken zwischen Ost und West, einschließlich des Embargos, abgebaut. Diese Entwicklung wird für Österreich überwiegend positive Auswirkungen haben.
