Verbesserte Ertragslage der Österreichischen Bundesbahnen

Abstract

Höhere Tarifeinnahmen und Personaleinsparungen haben 1988 die wirtschaftliche Lage der Österreichischen Bundesbahnen deutlich verbessert. Dennoch konnte der Gesamtaufwand (einschließlich Pensionslasten) nur knapp zur Hälfte durch Betriebserträge gedeckt werden. Der Bund trägt den Großteil der Pensionslasten und gilt der Bahn gemeinwirtschaftliche Leistungen ab. Im Zuge der Modernisierungsbemühungen der Bahn sollte den hohen Kosten dieser Leistungen und den großen strukturellen Veränderungen im übrigen Verkehrswesen besonderes Augenmerk geschenkt werden.
