The Quotas and Gender Freedom of Banks

Abstract

The meritocratic principal in the composition of banks boards is disrupted. And it is provoked, too. The years of false meritocracy caused the freedom to be transformed to quotas, that looked like suiting the gender with less presense there. The steps taken with the hard and soft law are oriented towards free choice - but in the future. Are the banks, pressed by the quotas, going to incorporate women as non-executive directors only, creating new stereotypes this way?
