Abstract

Bulgaria is a leading country in Europe by number of pharmacies per capita. However they are irregularly distributed. Pharmacies are concentrated mostly in the big cities while there is a lack of pharmacies in the smaller towns and villages. There are numerous places in Northeast region where population has no access to a pharmacy. According to the NHIF and RHI data the Northeastern region has 31 municipalities where people have no twenty-four hour access to a pharmacy and 7 municipalities without access to pharmacy which works with the NHIF.
