Tunnel Facilities Used by Road Transport and the Idea of Sustainable Sector Development

Abstract

The paper reveals the role of tunnel facilities run by road transport as the most used transport alternative for carrying out the idea of sustainable development of the sector. In the text we track the status of tunnel facilities at national level and provide an example of good practice applied by European countries to test the basic characteristic of the road facilities, contributing to the implementation of the transport process, corresponding well with environmental standards and the protection of life and health.
