Abstract

This study examines the opportunities for the development of dental tourism in Bulgaria. Dental tourism is a specific type of medical tourism, which has been developing rapidly in recent years, and in Bulgaria dental tourism has only been reflected for five or six years. Dental tourism is not affected by seasonality, it is not directly related to the availability of tourist resources and can successfully be combined with various types of tourism. These features increase its importance not only for reducing seasonality in our seaside and mountain resorts, but also for the economic "revival" of some less developed municipalities and regions. The first part of the study examines the features of medical tourism and in particular dental tourism, as well as the factors that influence the choice of a dental clinic. The second part of the representation shows the good practices of leading dental clinics in Bulgaria.
