Abstract

The paper aims to analyse the development of information space of a machine-building enterprise against the background of changes in the Russian economy in 1990s and application of digitalisation methods. Methodologically the research relies on of strategic management and enterprises’ economics. The methods of the research include tools of structural and functional analysis. The data of machinebuilding enterprises, examples of recently developed information systems, which ensure that enterprises function in line with market situation, formed the information base of the research. The authors suggest and elaborate on the factors in structuring information space of a machine-building enterprise; justify the identification of inner and outer parts of information space forming the corresponding domain of information systems functioning. The paper lists the specific features of machine-building enterprise op? eration that determine the functionality of its information platform. Another result of the research is an information-anticipating approach to influencing consumers of an enterprise’s products by digital issue of a product conceptual design. Thus, a retrospective analysis of development of information space of a modern machine-building enterprise allows assessing its development prospects and potential.
