Les statistiques ethniques et le mythe de la conception républicaine de l’égalité

Abstract

Dans de nombreux Etats occidentaux, la Grande-Bretagne, les Etats du Nord de l’Europe, les grandes démocraties du Nord de l’Amérique, le recours aux statistiques ethniques n’est pas jugé contraire au principe d’égalité. Il en va différemment en France où la conception républicaine du principe d’égalité est le principal obstacle et la principale objection opposée au recours aux statistiques ethniques. Pourquoi cette singularité française ? Est-elle justifiée au regard de notre passé ? Notre conception française de l’égalité n’est-elle pas obsolète en plus d’être hypocrite ?
