The economic liberalism: A historic fiction (an answer to the state concept of Accion Democratica)

Abstract

En el liderazgo estatista de Acción Democrática ha combatido las políticas económicas propiciadas por el presidente constitucional Carlos Andrés Pérez en el período 1989-1993. Para este liderazgo la naturaleza del programa económico impulsado en ese lapso histórico, es de carácter neoliberal y no se corresponde con los principios socialdemócratas que definen la naturaleza programática e ideológica de Acción Democrática. Este liderazgo estatista viene argumentando que las propuestas económicas de carácter neoliberal tienen sus raíces y sus antecedentes en el viejo liberalismo europeo decimonónico. En consecuencia, no ha habido un cambio radical e innovador en tales propuestas. Por tanto, el propósito de este trabajo es el de examinar con espíritu crítico y racional la supuesta naturaleza histórica del liberalismo tal como ha sido concebido por los políticos e ideólogos enemigos del mercado, no tiene una existencia real. Es decir, es una ficción, una fantasía de quienes combatieron a muerte el capitalismo. Pensamos que el fenómeno liberal hoy sí tiene importancia en el ámbito planetario: está motorizando las fuerzas económicas en el marco de la globalización.
