From global knowledge to scecific subject knowledge

Abstract

En este artículo, se discuten las diferencias entre un conocimiento global, omnicomprensivo y un conocimiento parcelario, con marcada tendencia hacia la especialización. El punto de ruptura entre estos dos conocimientos, que son en realidad dos maneras de concebir y explicar el mundo, acaeció durante la revolución industrial inglesa (siglos XVIII-XIX). El enorme avance científico y tecnológico que tuvo lugar, distanció aún más esas dos maneras de concebir el mundo. Se intenta una reflexión sobre esos cambios, utilizando como fondo la evolución histórica de la disciplina económica y sus conexiones con otras disciplinas. Se discuten avances, conceptos y posturas. Y, por último, se consideran críticamente tres vías posibles para volver del conocimiento parcelario al global, es decir, de las explicaciones parciales a las explicaciones globales, omnicomprensivas.
