Banking institution's financial reliability and methods of its measuring

Abstract

The article considers the definition of "financial reliability", its connections with other categories, and main approaches to understanding of a bank financial reliability, which is provided with capital adequacy, high liquidity and effectiveness. In turn, financial reliability evaluation addresses the analyses of ratios which can demonstrate the performance of financial sustainability components as it is the key element of financial reliability. The author has fulfilled the grouping of financial sustainability and reliability evaluation models, measured the reliability integral ratio for four groups of banking institutions according to NBU Classification, analysed separate reliability ratios for each of them. The conducted clustering of Ukrainian banks according to their reliability level allowed formulating offers on banks financial reliability increase to banking sector and state regulator.
