Inestabilidad de las exportaciones y crecimiento económico

Abstract

El objetivo del trabajo es analizar empíricamente el efecto que la incertidumbre asociada a las fluctuaciones en el valor de las exportaciones tendría sobre la economía interna de países en vías de desarrollo. El estudio está basado en una muestra de 30 países con datos del período 1954-75. En la primera parte se discute la forma de medir la inestabilidad, y en la segunda se testea su influencia sobre el ahorro y el producto interno. La conclusión básica obtenida es que la variabilidad en las exportaciones tiene un impacto estadísticamente no significativo sobre el crecimiento económico, al considerar el período de análisis como un todo.
