El modelo macroeconómico y las políticas monetaria y fiscal en presencia del efecto riqueza

Abstract

El análisis macroeconómico tradicional presenta, por el lado de la demanda agregada, dos situaciones bajo las cuales el sistema económico de empresa privada no logra en forma automática el pleno empleo: que el gasto (en consumo e inversión) sea muy inelástico a la tasa de interés, lo que gráficamente se traduce en una curva IS muy vertical; y que la demanda por dinero sea muy elástica con relación a la tasa de interés ("trampa de la liquidez"). Lo que gráficamente se observa en que la curva LM tiende a ser horizontal, al menos en el tramo relevante de análisis.
