Desempleo estructural en Chile: un análisis macroeconómico

Abstract

Un tema importante, pero no estudiado en el análisis del problema del desempleo en Chile se refiere a la aparición de desempleo estructural en la economía. Este trabajo busca examinar analíticamente sobre el problema. Después de una revisión de modelos teóricos de desempleo estructural (modelos de tasas naturales, enfoques de brecha salarial y modelos de desequilibrio), se realiza una cuantificación de este componente estructural de la tasa de desempleo, enfatizando el papel que juegan las tasas de inversión relativamente bajas, en la generación de este fenómeno. En la segunda parte del artículo se especifica un modelo macroeconómico de la economía chilena, el que se estima econométricamente de manera de simular políticas de inversión fiscal, cambiaria y salarial, dirigidas a reducir el desempleo cíclico y el estructural de la economía chilena.
